The Walsh Institute is proud to offer the PHR/SPHR Exam preparation program in partnership with SHRM.  Classes start April 2, 2014 at the Walsh College Troy Campus. Cost for the program is $1,495. Use the code Early Bird for discount tuition of $1295 until March 15.

Local Chapter Offers Scholarship
Detroit SHRM offers one grant of up to $1,000 for members to cover the cost of tuition. Please call the office at 248-478-6498 or log into the Members Only section of the website (www.detroitshrm.org) to learn about the Carolyn C. Palmer Certification Grant.   

How to Pay
Walsh College accepts Visa, MC, and Discover for online registration. This program is authorized for Michigan Works tuition assistance, as well as Sallie Mae student loans. Cancelation Policy
Student must officially withdraw from the program in writing. Full refunds up until 7 days before the start of class. No refunds if student withdraws within 7 days of the start of class. Email crush@walshcollege.edu for official withdrawal. 

PHR and SPHR Eligibility
Visit HRCI.org for information about eligibility and to apply for the PHR or SPHR tests.

PHR Eligibility
 

1 year in an exempt-level HR position with a Master’s degree or higher
2 years in an exempt-level HR position with a Bachelor’s degree
4 years of experience in an exempt-level position with less than a Bachelor’s degree     

SPHR Eligibility

4 years in an exempt-level HR position with a Master’s degree or higher                       
5 years in an exempt-level HR position with a Bachelor’s degree
7 years of in an exempt-level HR position with less than a Bachelor’s degree

Program Requirements
There are no admission requirements to take this program. However, certain criteria must be met for participants taking the PHR exam. PHR Exam Requirements: To apply for the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification, candidates must have a combination of education and professional HR experience.
